JET SOURCE HOSTS CALIFORNIA AIRCRAFT EXPO

On Saturday, November 3, Jet Source will host the California Aircraft Expo. All major aircraft manufacturers— Beech, Piper, Cessna, Cirrus, Pilatus, Diamond, Kodiak, Husky, Lancair, Embraer and others—plan to display aircraft from their respective product lines. The event will begin at 1000 and continue until approximately 1600 hours.

Jet Source has recently added a nearly new Phenom 100, a King Air 350, and a Gulfstream 200 to its growing fleet of late model managed and charter aircraft; those available for charter include the Phenom 100, King Air 200, Citation Mustang, Citation II, Citation CJ3, Citation XLS, Hawker 800, Falcon 50, Challenger 604, Gulfstream 400 and Embraer Legacy 600. With the exception of the Embraer, all aircraft are based at CRQ.

Holding an FAA Air Carrier Certificate (Part 135) authorizes Jet Source to conduct worldwide charter operations in aircraft with ten or more seats. With the largest and newest fleet of charter aircraft in San Diego County, Jet Source offers competitive pricing and is able to provide the best airplane for any mission, anytime, anywhere.

As an FAA-Approved 145 Repair Station status, Jet Source is an authorized Piper Service Center as well as a Class I, II and III Avionics repair & installation facility.

A Second Consecutive Audit for Jet Source Charter, Inc.

Carlsbad, Calif — (November 29, 2011) —This past year saw a second consecutive successful safety audit completed by Jet Source Charter, Inc. (certificate AMPA725C), their third total. The audit, which took place at the company’s Carlsbad, California Headquarters at McClellan-Palomar Airport (KCRQ) on July 11-12, 2011, was conducted by two aviation professionals for compliance with 14 CFR Part 135 regulations and The Wyvern Standard. As of September 26, 2011, Wyvern recommends the services of Jet Source Charter, Inc. for use by its clients.

Plans Move Ahead for Runway Expansion at McClellan-Palomar Airport

Carlsbad, Calif — (October 27, 2011) — The Carlsbad Board of Supervisors recently approved a feasibility study to examine the long-discussed runway expansion at the McClellan-Palomar Airport. The $767,000 project will take up to 15 months to complete and determine if the 1,100 foot expansion is possible, as well as if the cost can be reimbursed through the Federal Aviation Administration. The expansion plan has been endorsed by all mayors of surrounding North County, and could not only bring more aircraft and business to the area, but improve safety, increase efficiency, and decrease airport noise and local environmental impact.

George Puthoff, Glenn Gray Join Jet Source Parts Department

Carlsbad, Calif. — (September 30, 2011) — The Jet Source Maintenance and Avionics Department continues to expand with the addition of seasoned veterans George Puthoff and Glenn Gray to the Parts Department. Responsible for ordering, maintaining, stocking, and issuing parts for Jet Source, the pair will help to expand the reach of Jet Source Maintenance capabilities and continue to exceed customer expectations with efficient, helpful service.

Puthoff has over 38 years of industry experience, giving him a critical edge in the competitive aviation parts business. After managing the Corporate Airmotive FBO in San Jose in the early 1970s, he spent time with Air Resorts and Crownair, where he served over 18 years as Parts Manager. Assisting him is Glenn Gray, a returning Jet Source employee with over 18 years of industry experience and a hard-to-match background in corporate aircraft procurement.

“Your standard of service is most important,” believes Puthoff. “The customer is who you are working for, and you need to get the parts on time so that they can get back to flying. I always thank our customers for coming to us—by investing money in their aircraft they are creating jobs, and we take care of them in a way that they deserve.”

Jet Source to Host the Cruise 4 Kids Luxury Car Event

Jet Source is proud to announce that they will be hosting the final leg of the Cruise 4 Kids Luxury Car Rally benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito Saturday, September 10th. The event kicks off at the Hotel Del Coronado and ends at the Jet Source FBO at the McClellan-Palomar Airport. Cruise 4 Kids (C4K) is a unique, private fundraising event inviting high-end luxury car owners to participate in a 40 mile “cruise” with over 100 sport and exotic cars.

This cruise will be filmed using HD car mounted cameras and an HD helicopter camera. With Cal Trans approval of the closure of the Coronado Bridge, the helicopter will capture all 100 cars as they cruise across the Bridge in unison directed by a CHP motorcade.

“I’m very excited to bring together these high-end luxury vehicle owners for such a unique opportunity to raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs,” said Nino Venturella, Cruise 4 Kids event chair. “Capturing 100 exotic cars on the Coronado Bridge is the ultimate car lover’s dream.”

The C4K day starts with participants admiring peers’ cars, followed by a gourmet breakfast and featuring high-end vendors, all on the Windsor Lawn at the Hotel Del Coronado.

After Cruise 4 Kids concludes at the Jet Source Hangar, participants will be able to view private luxury jets and cars, dine on a terrific lunch provided by Tommy V’s Italian Chophouse, participate in a fantastic raffle, and take a keepsake picture with the Rally Promo Girls, their luxury car, and a jet.

The route for C4K starts at Hotel Del Coronado and crosses the Coronado Bridge to achieve the 100 car aerial shot. Next, the cars head north onto I-5 exiting off of Genesee to head north down through Torrey Pines State Beach where the helicopter will get its next aerial shot. Headed back onto the I-5 at Del Mar Heights on-ramp, the cruise heads north again to exit at La Costa. Once on La Costa the cruise concludes through Batiquitos Lagoon to end at the Jet Source hangar.

This is not a race, but a high-end cruise limited to only 100 cars.

Jet Source Completes Second Major Touchscreen Upgrade

Carlsbad, Calif. — (August 3, 2011) — The Jet Source Avionics Department is one of the first operators in Southern California to complete a second major installation of the new Garmin GTN 650/750 touchscreens. These units are a huge breakthrough for Garmin and between extensive tax incentives and factory rebates of up to $3,250, modernizing your panel has never been more affordable or made more sense.

Replacing the outdated Bendix-King package on a Pilatus PC-12 was a challenge, especially since so many of the original components needed to be upgraded or replaced, including the KX155 Nav/Coms, the KMA26 Audio Panel, the KMD540 MFD and the KLN89 GPS. The new system features the latest in avionics technology and includes the GTN 750 and 650 Nav/Com/GPS/WAAS units, GMA35 Audio Panel with iPod music jack, Garmin GMX MFD interfaced to KMH920 for EGPWS terrain, TCAS traffic, and the RDR2000 with radar. Also installed was the new Garmin GDL69A XM Radio and Weather Data Link, which can be displayed on the new touchscreens and GMX 200. Rounding out this incredible avionics installation was an upgrade to the existing EFIS 50 system which allows for the display of WAAS approach information.

“The GTN 750 and 650 combination is a fully integrated GPS/NAV/COMM solution. The touchscreen controls and large display give you exceptional access to high-resolution terrain mapping, graphical flight planning, geo-referenced charting, traffic display, and satellite weather,” explains Lead Avionics Technician Danny Allen. “If you are considering an upgrade please do not hesitate: Garmin is offering rebates until August 15th 2011, saving you up to $3,250 when you combine a new GTN750 or 650 with a new Garmin traffic system.”

Art Muro Named New Jet Source Maintenance Manager

Carlsbad, Calif. — (July 27, 2011) — Art Muro has joined the Jet Source Maintenance Department as the new 145 Maintenance Manager, where he will be directly responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the company’s FAA Approved airframe and engine maintenance business.

Since graduating from the Spartan School of Aeronautics in 2001, Muro has held virtually every role in aviation maintenance, including Service Manager, Chief Inspector, Shop foreman, and lead Technician. Most recently serving as Service Manager with Crownair Aviation Maintenance, Muro brings to Jet Source a wealth of knowledge and experience in servicing and maintaining both general aviation and corporate jet aircraft.

Muro prides himself in building strong, personal relationships with his customers and being responsive to their needs. “My highest priority is to provide a consistent level of excellent service and meet the needs of the aviation community, both private and corporate.
